She’s here, and much sooner than I expected to boot! I have to say that after much fretting and curiosity over the condition of her since she is secondhand, I find her to be far prettier in person despite her bad face-up and body blushing. 😀 Anyhow box opening pics follow, along with some quickie resin comparisons between Unoa, Dollmore, and Asleep Eidolon. Also I wanted to be sure to record her well with photos so I can have clear progress pics of her impending “make-over” so I can see how much more beautiful she will become! :DD
Her shipping box arrived a little beat up, but Mandarake did a nice job packaging her, so she and her interior box were in fine condition aside from a slight ding (in the doll box) that looked like it happened before she was packaged and sent to me. I also have to say that Mandarake is very very kind and they underlist the price of the doll on the customs form so you don’t get charged any extra import/customs fees…haha though perhaps I shouldn’t say that, maybe big brother is watching. ^^;;; Anyway Mandarake also ships fast. I sincerely wasn’t expecting Lusis to arrive until sometime next week, like Tuesday or Wednesday, but yet here she is only 4 days after I ordered her.
Heh, sorry more box spam, but this is my first Unoa box so it’s speshuuul <3 XD. As you can see, Grade B is clearly marked on the front of the box. As to what Grade B means is still up in the air to me at this point. After doing some reading on various informational sites as well as the Alchemic Lab site I came to the conclusion that B Grade may have minor flaws on parts that are hidden from view. However I scanned my doll from top to bottom and noticed no major flaws aside from a couple little glue goobers from where the previous owner put together her hip joints. So what else can it be? Perhaps Grade A has sanded seams and B does not? My Lusis has all of her seams....so shrug I just don't know, but I will probably research it more.
So my Lusis came with two Lusis faceplates, each with not so great face-ups. ^^; A bad face-up doesn’t bother me though because I know I can just wipe her clean and give her a new face. Right now she has thick opaque pink paint on her lips, crazy black eye lashes that appear to be for humans and tiny asymetrical brows. ^^; One face has darker eye-make and a strange silver eye liner. XD The other is a bit more natural. One thing I suspect with these faceplates is that one may have a mouth that is slightly more open than the other. I won’t be 100% sure on that until after I remove the pain on her lips which is seriously on so thick that it would change the shape of the opening. Aside from the extra faceplate, she also came with the small bust part, but seeing as I wanted her with large bust, I probably will do nothing with the small bust.
Aside from the not so great face paint, her previous owner also blushed her feet and hands, and gave her a manicure that is just as sloppy as her lip paint. ^^;;;; Again though, all of this can be easily wiped off, and I am quite excited at the prospects of blushing Lusis myself, so all is good!
So here she is nekkid except for her default wig and hanging with Yara and Sona. XD I have to say that I am more than pleased with the Unoa wigs! They really are tailor made for the Unoa head and are of very good quality. Of course I’m not so much into blonde hair, so I’ve ordered a few new wigs from Kemper to try on her, but still, color me impressed. 😀 So now about the resin….Mandarake listed that she was yellowed, and to be sure I think she is a little, but she is not a horror yellow, and in fact I think she has a lovely skintone. Her mellowing is very very close to the mellowing on my AE Yara who is nearly 4 years old now. I don’t think the picture shows it very well, but in person when Lusis is next to Yara (on the right) the differences between their resin are imperceptible. Sona on the other hand is a bit lighter than Yara and Lusis, but she is also a younger doll.
And here is a comparison photo of all their bald little heads. XD Obviously the Unoa head is the smallest, however because her head shape is more similar to Sona’s, they can share wigs very easily. In fact I was surprised to find that the Unoa wig fit on Sona. It did not fit on Yara’s head though, which I figure is because her head is rounder and larger at the top, more like a manga character. All three of the girls can wear Kemper wigs size 6-7 very well. Lusis was also able to wear Yara’s Jpop Dolls wig as well.
And lastly the obligatory cat in the box. XD As always she crawled right into the shipping box and curled up to sleep. Silly kitty….but I love her so. <3
