It wasn’t but maybe 15-30 minutes after I made my post about waiting that my Asleep Eidolon Yara doll arrived! So I was able to snap pics of taking her out of the box and getting her dressed and stuff before dinner, which was good times. Anyway I have a ton of photos to share, but to share them all would make everything super image heavy, so I shall put them all behind a cut!
Yay! The box has arrived!
And inside is the pretty pink Asleep Eidolon box with shininess!
Removing the box from the box. XD
Hazzah! It is opened and there are cushions…..
And removing that cushion reveals a very tightly bubble-wrapped Yara and goodies!
Got the card and the eyes out. Yara came with 3 pairs of 14mm plastic eyes, but the Mint on Card site recommended 16mm eyes, so I bought a pair of 16mm green glass eyes and then received a free promotional pair of dark blue ones as well.
Next I pulled out the clothes I bought, and also the free t-shirt which was also part of the promotion.
And finally let’s get Yara unwrapped!
Almost there!
No eyes yet, but imagine my surprise that this Yara has eyelashes! I was all like, since when do the dolls come with eyelashes, did I read something wrong? And then I noticed something else about my Yara…..she is super smooth, much smoother than my un-sanded DIM Danbi. So I start looking around for seams and find….NONE! So my doll is sanded too. (<_<).... (>_>)….So, wow, yeah, that’s a pretty nice surprise and I just hope nobody comes calling for more money or anything….lol. Or maybe Asleep Eidolon dolls come sanded?
Eyes! I decided to go with the 16mm green glass. 🙂
And Howdy! Now, I realized that the wig that I have is oooold, and unfortunately the elastic is not so great anymore so basically the wig does not fit her. I tried to cover it up by putting her hoodie up. :p Anyway it looks like I’ll need to get her a new wig, but for now I’ll just try to mend the wig.
Then Naoise gets a chance to meet the newcomer. 🙂 I have yet to decide on a name for her, but I think I am leaning towards Laika or Naia.
So, when you think about the difference between 60cm and 43cm….it does not seem like much, but then when you see the dolls together, boy they really are of a different scale. Anyway this shows a comparison of their two hands. Naoise’s are quite a bit larger.
Anyway for my final thoughts….I really love my Yara! Especially her skinny body which is more Unoa like. I think I can really get into this MSD size! In fact dare I say I prefer 40cm dolls over 60cm? XD I still love Naoise though and eventually I’ll get a companion for him, but I think after that, that will be the end of my 60cm collection. Anyway, my only qualms about my Yara is that she seems to be strung super tight since she is a little slap happy. Her legs like to kick too, but on the other hand her waist joint is wonderful and is more flexible than Naoise’s. Also I am in love with the double jointed elbows….so much more poseability! I think my next doll will definitely have to have double jointing!
Well that’s it, I hope I entertained. XD
She’s adorable!
I’ve bought dolls from MintOnCard too (fantasy doll Nina and Amber) and I like her as a seller.
Strangely, it seems to me like the more expensive the doll, the more work they are to the owner (like, unsanded seams, etc.).
As far as the size difference goes- my 6’4″ brother used to date my 5’1″ best friend- so really, there are pretty substantial size difference in real life too. 🙂 It doesn’t bother me. And I agree about the MSD size- sometimes I wish I had stayed with that size because they take up less room, weigh less to carry around, and it is much easier finding accessories that fit.
Congrats on your new beauty!
🙂
Aw, thanks for visiting and commenting! I think you must be like my first visitor. ^^; Anyway I really love the Asleep Eidolon dolls, and I enjoyed my shopping experience through Mint on Card. I’d have to say that I would definitely buy from them again. 🙂
I thought about the size differences in real life too. I once dated a guy that I had to get up on my toes to kiss. 😉
